(From Fencing News NB): Carson Marcoux, 16, an
honours student at Dalhousie Regional High School, earned
a 97% mark in Grade 10 French immersion and has studied
piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music. His solid
academic background includes honours in French immersion
from grades 6 - 8. Marcoux is a young, skilled fencer.
He is ranked first in Atlantic Canada for Cadet and Junior
men’s sabre, third in Canada for under-17 sabre
domestic rankings and fifth in Canada for under-17 national
selection rankings. In the community, Marcoux raises money
for the Canadian Cancer Society by performing piano recitals.
He has volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Dalhousie
Nursing Home and a breakfast program run out of his high
school. He also coaches and referees fencing.
